Samohi Dominates All-League Softball:

As perennial Ocean League softball champions, Santa Monica High would be expected to dominate the all-league selections.

That has happened again as catcher Emma Woo is the league’s Most Valuable Player and pitcher Celisha Walker has been accorded the league’s second highest honor – Most Outstanding.

Four other players were voted first team all league – shortstop Kaile Nakao, infielder Kelsey Horn and outfielders Meghan Bradley and Holly Elander.

Four others made the second team – Yaneth Guzman, Hailey Condon, Hailey Sheridan and Natalie Abel.

All players are expected back except Guzman, the only senior.

Samohi didn’t allow a run in an Ocean League game last season and only one to Hawthorne this season. The Vikings won two CIF playoff games before losing in the quarterfinals.
