Noah Gottlieb, the fifth-leading scorer in the history of Santa Monica College mens’ basketball, is playing his senior season at College Of Idaho, the school where NBA Hall of Famer Elgin Baylor got his start in college basketball.
Gottlieb led the Coyotes in scoring with 15 and rebounding with six last weekend in a 74 – 55 conference loss to Northwest College in Washington.
Gottlieb, a 6-foot-2 guard, was all-city at Venice High. He then played two years at SMC and went on to Chaminade in Honolulu for his junior season. Gottlieb made second team all-conference there but decided to transfer for his final collegiate season.
College of Idaho is ranked eighth in the country in its division.
Gottlieb has international experience, having played for the United States Maccabiah Games team in Rome two summers ago. He hopes to play professionally in Europe if he doesn’t make an NBA roster next season.
