JAN. 11 AIRPORT POLLUTION FORUM:

The Science of Santa Monica Airport Air Pollution will be the focus a forum to be held in light of the results of a recently released UCLA air monitoring study. The free-to-the-public forum will be moderated by Los Angeles City Councilman Bill Rosendahl. Featured speakers will be Professor Suzanne Paulson, lead scientist for the recently published UCLA air monitoring study on aircraft emission impacts into North Westdale; and Bill Piazza, Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), Office of Environmental Health and Safety, who prepared the 1999 LAUSD risk assessment on the downwind extent of emissions from Santa Monica Airport.

The forum will take place Monday, January 11, 2010 beginning 7 p.m. at St Andrew’s Lutheran Church located at 11555 National Blvd. in Los Angeles, 90064.

The forum will be sponsored by the North Westdale Neighborhood Association (NWNA) and Concerned Residents Against Airport Pollution (CRAAP).

The public will have an opportunity to comment and ask questions.

Free onsite parking as well as street parking is available, and there will be light refreshments.
