Basketball Clinic Shares Price of Admission: St. Monica Raises Money For Japan

St. Monica basketball coach Khi Min Jung used his home court to Japan’s advantage.

“When everything happened, the tsunami and earthquake,” Coach Jung said, “I felt real helpless, like there wasn’t much I could do.”

Jung said he wanted to use his ability to coach basketball to try to give back. But the idea clicked in his head after Danny Walker, Jung’s partner in the 360 Basketball Academy and former California high school player of the year, said they should do a fundraiser.

“We need to realize we’re in a blessed situation,” Walker said. “And we have victims across the water that really need the help and support of individuals like ourselves.”

The Academy raised $380, which will all go to Japan’s people in need.
