The Samohi Vikings withstood a late surge from the Beverly Hills Normans to take the 3-0 sweep.
Coach Liane Sato said Beverly Hills couldn’t get the ball past her blockers.
Opposite hitter Dane Keckin stayed focused, even while the Normans jumped to a 6-2 lead in the third game.
“I knew they would be loud, and I knew they really wanted to win,” Keckin said, “but I had a lot of confidence coming in that we were going to win.”
And win they did. Samohi fought back after the scare to retake the lead and close out the Normans 25-14, 25-18, 25-20.
