Downey – Lady Mariners played a non-conference double header on Sat. against
the St. Matthias Victorians and swept both games decidedly, 10-0 in the first game and 11-6
in the second.
Senior pitcher, Alex Wolansky picked up both wins. Freshman Katie Grimm had 4
hits, including an RBI double, scoring 3 runs and Junior Ariel Hackney scored 5 runs
on 4 hits including an RBI triple to lead the St Monica Lady Mariners.
St. Monica Girls Softball team plays next on Thurs. April 14 against Mary Star of the sea at
Memorial Park. Game time is 3 p.m.
