On Thursday, April 28, at 1:55 a.m. officers noticed that a vehicle was driving northbound in the 2900 block of Neilson Way. This vehicle did not have its headlights on, so the officers conducted a traffic stop. As they spoke with the driver they noticed that he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, and decided to place him under arrest.
The officers then conducted a search of the suspect’s vehicle, and discovered ecstasy (MDMA, 3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, in case you didn’t know), as well as numerous documents contained in the trunk of the vehicle that pertained to the possibility that this man was involved in identity theft activities. The officers arrested this 30-year-old Santa Monica man and he was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of ten individual’s personal information, and making a false application. His bail was set at $50,000.
