Santa Monica Police Department officers found a more than they expected when they pulled over a vehicle with bad plates and found the driver to be carrying drugs.
On Sunday, May 15, at 9:45 p.m., officers of the Santa Monica police Department stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of Pico Boulevard for having an expired registration. The officers then discovered that the driver of the vehicle was driving on a suspended license, so they placed him under arrest.
The officers then searched the vehicle and discovered a green bag. In the green bag the officers discovered a clear smaller bag. In the clear smaller bag the officers discovered several prescription opiates. The officers looked in the green bag again and discovered some more prescription narcotics as well. The man was unable to provide any proof that he was in possession of these drugs legitimately, so he was arrested. This 33-year-old Santa Monica man was charged with possession of a controlled substance, and driving on a suspended license. His bail was set at $10,000.
