Samohi Beats Culver City To End Regular Season: Samohi Takes League Title

SANTA MONICA – The coin flip turned irrelevant.

As mentioned earlier this week, the Ocean League flipped a coin to determine who would be win the league baseball championship if Samohi and Culver City split their series this week.

Samohi won 2-1 on Tuesday and followed it up with a 7-3 victory on Thursday to claim the league for themselves.

“The kids deserve it,” said Samohi coach Sheldon Philip-Guide. “I’m happy for the kids. I’m happy for the school. They did a great job, so I’m really proud of them.”

Samohi will host the first round of the CIF playoffs but won’t find out their opponent until next week.
