Santa Monica will welcome back Cirque du Soleil and its trademark blue-and-yellow big-top tent starting Jan. 20 next year for its touring production “OVO”.
The show is currently playing in Calgary, Vancouver. It will then move to Mexico City, Mexico for shows starting Oct. 30, before heading to Southern California for a limited time only.
Since its world-premiere in Montreal in 2009, “OVO” has charmed more than two million spectators in North America. Santa Monica will be the only Southern California stop for a the production in 2012.
OVO is promoted as a headlong rush into a colorful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement.
The insects’ home is a world of biodiversity and beauty filled with noisy action and moments of quiet emotion.
OVO is overflowing with contrasts. The hidden, secret world at our feet is revealed as tender and torrid, noisy and quiet, peaceful and chaotic. And as the sun rises on a bright new day the vibrant cycle of insect life begins anew.
Specially-priced tickets are now exclusively available to Cirque Club members.
