Local Paratriathlete Takes Gold In Beijing

In a story that ran on Sept. 2, The Mirror wrote about Danielle McLaughlin, a local resident who lost her foot in high school and had the opportunity to compete in the ITU Paratriathlete World Championships in Beijing, China, on Sept. 9. McLaughlin ran a time of 1:35:08 to take a gold medal in the Female T-5 (below knee) category last Friday. The event saw 73 paratriathletes compete.

SMC Soccer Drops Two Matches On The Road

The SMC Corsair soccer team fell to 0-3 after losing away from home. East LA Community College prevailed over the Corsairs 3-1 last Friday and Pasadena Community College claimed the high-scoring 4-3 win on Tuesday. The Corsairs return home today (Friday) to face San Bernadino Valley College at Corsair Field at 3 p.m.
