Albertson’s Murder Suspect Has Preliminary Hearing Set For November 22:

Murder Suspect Kelvin Green

A preliminary hearing has been set for Nov. 22 for Kelvin Green, the estranged husband of an Albertson’s clerk that he allegedly stabbed to death in Santa Monica on Sunday Aug. 21.

The hearing date was set this morning at the LAX branch courthouse.

Green remains in jail in lieu of $1 million bail.

Along with one count of murder, Green faces one count of assault involving a good Samaritan who tried to intervene, but was not injured.

Green was booked for murder on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 4:20 p.m. at the Santa Monica Police Station.

The 52-year-old, of Los Angeles, allegedly entered the Albertson’s Market at 3105 Wilshire just before 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21.

He allegedly stabbed Christina Talley, 46 of Los Angeles, between 20 and 30 times at her checkout stand while she was working. Talley succumbed to her wounds in a hospital at 2:22 a.m. the next day.

Several hours after she passed away, at 7:30 a.m. on Monday Aug. 22, Santa Monica detectives discovered Green had been checked into a medical center located at the intersection of Olympic Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard in Los Angeles for an unrelated medical condition, possibly drug related, after a 911 call was made.

Police officers stayed with him until he was released from the medical center into police custody on Aug. 24, where he was then taken to SMPD headquarters to be booked for murder.

If convicted, Green could face life in prison as he has been incarcerated before.

URB-E Takes the Neighborhood by Confusion and Wonder:

About 10 years ago, there was a small wave of hype for an electric scooter called the Segway. At a glance, it seems like history is to repeat itself, with this new vehicle called the URB-E, standing for “urban electric.” However, that is not so much the case here as it was 10 years ago.
