Assemblymember Betsy Butler, who is seeking re-election in the 50th Assembly District, has been endorsed by the Painters and Allied Trades District Council #36.
The Painters and Allied Trades District Council #36 represents more than 11,000 working men and women in Southern California. Their members work in the finishing trades and include painters, glaziers, floorlayers, drywall finishers, and tradeshow, and signcraft workers.
“Since we made our initial endorsement in the race, the field of candidates has broadened significantly,” said Robert Smith, Political Director for the Painters and Allied Trades District Council #36. “With the candidacy of Betsy Butler, who is the incumbent in the race, we know we have a leader who takes action, rather than just voting. Betsy Butler has been a champion for working families in the State Legislature, and we therefore have withdrawn our prior endorsement and enthusiastically support her re-election in the 50th District.”
The new 50th Assembly District stretches from West Hollywood to Malibu and sweeps south through the Palisades to Santa Monica.
Butler was elected to the California State Assembly in 2010.
