Tonight’s fourth and final scheduled closure of the 405 Freeway this week between the 101 Freeway and Getty Center Drive has been canceled.
Northbound closures were planned with freeway ramps within the closures limits to begin closing as early as 7 p.m. and freeway lanes were to begin to close as early as 10 p.m., leading up to the full directional freeway closure between the hours of 12 a.m. and 5 a.m.
However, the contractor was able to complete all work on the northbound lanes last night.
Work on the southbound lanes between the 101 Freeway and Getty Center Drive was carried out Tuesday and Wednesday nights this week.
During the closure, the contractor installed a walkway on the north half of the Skirball Bridge, completed Mulholland Bridge column construction work, and removed and replaced the overhead freeway signs and structures to support freeway widening.
Beginning this Monday Oct. 31, a dozen consecutive nightly closures are planned for the demolition of the north side of the Sunset bridge between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
