YWCA Santa Monica Host Week Without Violence Events October 15 To 21:

Join the YWCA Santa Monica / Westside for the Week Without Violence, October 15 – 21, 2011 for a week of free workshops for the community.

The Week Without Violence is a national campaign that focuses on practical alternatives to violence, bringing to our lives a safer, more peaceful and healthy community.

The following is the schedule of all the free events offered that week:

~ Saturday, Oct. 15: Free “Yoga for Peace” workshop with Hannah Kapp from 10:30 – 12 noon.

~ Monday, Oct. 17: Free Self-Defense workshop for girls ages 11 – 13 with Impact Personal Safety from 3:30 – 5:30 pm.

~ Tuesday, Oct. 18: Free “Stranger Beware” program for children ages 6 – 11, with Sensei Dana Thompson from 3:30 – 4:30 pm.

~ Wednesday, Oct. 19: Free Self-Defense for women and girls ages 14 on up with Impact Personal Safety from 6:30 – 9:30 pm.

~ Thursday, Oct. 20: Free Sustainable Living program from 7 – 8:30 pm.

~ Friday, Oct. 21, Free Gentle/Restorative Yoga workshop with Adelaide McLean from 8:30 – 10 am.
