Santa Monicans for Renters’ Rights held its monthly Steering Committee meeting Saturday Nov. 12.
A discussion of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Superintendent’s District-wide Fundraising proposal was on the agenda.
The Steering Committee discussed the issue along with the SMRR platform then expressed support and interest in passing a resolution to get behind the proposal.
The Steering Committee unanimously voted for the following resolution.
“SMRR’s Platform states that SMRR supports equity in educational programming to achieve social and economic justice for all students. SMRR supports the Superintendent’s proposed policy change to move to districtwide fundraising through the Santa Monica-Malibu Education Foundation,” the Steering Committee said in a statement.
