SMFD Issue Overcrowding Warning To Venues In Lead-Up To St. Patrick’s Day:

St. Patrick’s Day is this Saturday

Drinking and dining establishments throughout Santa Monica are being reminded by the Santa Monica Fire Department to be responsible regarding overcrowding during St. Patrick’s this Saturday, March 17.

The reminders are:

• An establishment’s occupancy load is limited to the posted occupancy load sign issued by the Santa Monica Fire Department.

• Maintain egress paths.

• Keep exits doors unobstructed.

• Monitor your occupancy load. The best way to do this is to have two door monitors with hand held counters. One is responsible for counting guests entering, and one responsible for guest exiting. Remember this is required as part of the Santa Monica Fire Department occupancy regulations.
