He Was Delivered To Jail.
On Friday, April 13, at 2:56 p.m., officers of the Santa Monica Police Department responded to the 1400 block of Fourth Street after receiving a report about a postal worker who had been threatened.
When the officers arrived at the scene they spoke with the victim, a female African-American postal worker. She told them that she had been on her delivery route when a man had approached her and began making racial slurs towards her. The man then told the postal worker that she needed to die, and that he was going to kill her.
After receiving that last piece of information she entered a local business and called the police.
The officers searched for this man and later found him in the 1000 block of Pico Boulevard, where, after the victim had identified him, he was arrested.
The officers discovered that this man was on active parole for criminal threats.
This 48-year-old homeless man was charged with criminal threats based upon a person’s race, criminal threats, threatening a federal employee, and a parole violation.
He was not granted bail.
