In order to raise awareness of the fun ways women can get active, the American Cancer Society “Choose You” movement will be deploying “play teams” in Santa Monica this Friday, May 11 to encourage spontaneous physical activity.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Third Street Promenade, play teams will be organized to help women have fun while getting active with nostalgic childhood toys, including the 80s famed Skip It, hoppity hop balls, and double-dutch jump ropes.
The “Choose You” movement is launching its 100,000 Acts of Play Challenge, calling on women to share each time they play in May by visiting www.facebook.com/chooseyou or ChooseYou.com/Play.
Each act of play will help the American Cancer Society spread the message about women’s health and the importance of getting active to help reduce your cancer risk.
National presenting sponsor Quest Diagnostics will also be on-site providing free Quest Diagnostics vouchers for wellness and prevention screenings.
