On Thursday, April 26, at 4:24 p.m., officers of the Santa Monica Police Department went to Sephora, located at 1244 Third Street Promenade, after they had received a report regarding two men who were inside the store and suspected of attempting to steal some cologne.
The officers spoke with the loss prevention agents from Sephora said that they had seen the two men enter the store, walk over to the cologne section, and proceed to conceal several bottles of cologne inside their bags.
The agents continued that these men had then left the store without attempting to pay for the cologne.
The officers noted that these men had stolen about $300 worth of cologne, which they recovered.
Based upon the evidence the officers arrested these two men in accordance with the private person’s arrest protocol and they were taken to jail where these two men, one a 23-year-old from Los Angeles, and the other aged 21, and from Corona, were both charged with conspiracy and petty theft.
Bail for each was set at $1,000.
