Every year, thousands of friends and family of seniors at Santa Monica High School’s Greek Theater come together to watch the graduating class cross the stage.
On June 24, more than 650 students graduated. While most graduates didn’t receive their physical diploma until around 5 a.m. the next morning, the ceremony was festive.
Principal Laurel Fretz gave her first Samohi graduation speech and encouraged students to keep Viking pride in their hearts forever.
Student musicians showcased their talent, and the ceremony culminated in the Samohi tradition of graduates throwing carnations in the air.
