Riviera Tennis Club has appointed USPTA 1 accredited coach Andrew J. Minnelli as its new Director of Tennis Operations.
Minnelli, currently the Associate Director of Tennis at the historic Atlanta Athletic Club, has a long list of credentials.
He is the former Head Tennis Professional at the Country Club of Roswell and The Landings Club.
Previously he had worked for the ATP Tour and Stan Smith-Billy Stearns Tennis Academy.
He currently is President of the United States Professional Tennis Association Board for Georgia, was voted USPTA Southern Pro of the Year (2012), won the USPTA Georgia Industry Excellence Award (2011), and was honored as the USPTA Georgia Pro of the Year (2010).
He is a sought after speaker for the USPTA, a shoe and racquet tester for “Tennis Magazine,” and a writer for “Net News” and the “Skinnie Magazine.”
Riviera Tennis Club General Manager Don Emery said Minnelli was hired after a two-month global search.
“We are pleased to welcome Mr. Andrew Minnelli to our family of employees at the Club,” Emery said. “Our goal was to find a passionate professional who will help engage the membership, and continue a 50 year tradition of hospitality for which the Tennis Club is known.”
He said Minnelli would bring a new level of energy and excitement to the Club.
“We can’t wait to see the enhancements Andrew will bring to Riviera,” he said. “The next 50 years promises to be even brighter for The Riviera Tennis Club.”
Minnelli is a member of the USPTA, the GPTA, the United States Racquet Stringing Association, and the United States Tennis Association as well as having been selected to be on the Advisory Staff for Babolat.
He competed in the USTA Atlanta Pro League, was a two-time NCAA competitor and was a top 20 ranked collegiate doubles player.
