Samohi Volleyball Wins First Two Playoff Games To Advance To CIF Quarterfinals: Update #1 Vikings Beat El Rancho 3-0 In Round 2

Santa Monica High School's Greta Schmittdiel prepares the defense of the Vikings during the second set against the Palmdale Falcons Tuesday night.

Santa Monica High School (11-2) played their first playoff game against the Palmdale High School Falcons (6-3) winning all three sets 25-18, 25-10, and 25-12 Tuesday night at home.

With the win, the Vikings advance to the second round of the CIF playoffs.

Vikings Middle blocker Greta Schmittdiel was happy with the win but not fully satisfied with the result.

“We didn’t do as great as we should,” said Schmittdiel. “But overall, we came out strong and we killed it.”

Next game for the Vikings is against Viewpoint (15-6-1) Saturday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. with the location TBA.
