Santa Monica College midfielder Mahshar Zargar scores a goal in the first half against L.A. Valley College to make the game 4-0 at home Friday afternoon.

The Santa Monica College women’s soccer team blew out LA Valley College 10-0 at home on a cold Friday afternoon in an impressive display of talent and skill that proved that they are ready for the upcoming playoffs.

Corsairs Head Soccer Coach Aaron Benditson was excited about the win over LA Valley College.

“Everybody got to play and all the sophomores they shined today and it was fantastic,” said Benditson. “We got to honor them and it was a great final day.”

The Lady Corsairs are now waiting to see what happens with the rest of the region, and are currently sitting in a good playoff position.

With the win, their chances improve at going into the playoffs.

“Based upon how the other teams around us do wins and loss wise will predict our fate,” said Benditson. “But I am pretty confident that we are going to be able to sustain a playoff position.”
