Santa Monica Student-Run Culinary School Restaurant To Help Scholarship Fund:

Bistro 31 is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Thursday during the school year at the Art Institute of California – Los Angeles in Santa Monica.

Bistro 31, the Santa Monica student-run restaurant at The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California—Los Angeles, will donate a portion of all sales to the school’s scholarship fund during the last two weeks of February.

“Enjoying a wonderful meal while contributing to student scholarships at the same time is a great way to support our aspiring creative professionals,” said The Art Institute of California—Los Angeles President Claude Brown.

The scholarship funds raised will benefit students in all Culinary, Media Arts, Design and Fashion areas of study.

Students created an Asian cuisine-inspired menu for the current winter quarter with several items added weekly.

Dishes include starters such as Yellow Tail Hamachi Carpaccio with micro greens, shiso ginger, serrano chili, with yuzu ponzu ($7); an Asian Bistro Burger entree with ground Angus, soy ginger glaze, Asian slaw, pickled cucumbers, tomato, grilled onion, and aonori dusted potato chips for $8.50; and an assortment of desserts.

Doors are open to the public Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for lunch from 11:30 am 1:30 pm, and for dinner from 6:30-8:30PM.  Reservations are strongly encouraged: 310.314.6057. The bistro offers two hour parking validation.

Bistro 31 is located at 2900 31st Street (at Ocean Park Boulevard), Santa Monica.
