What’s Hot: Whale Of A Weekend At Santa Monica Pier Aquarium:

Santa Monica Pier Aquarium will host "Whale Of A Weekend" this Saturday and Sunday from 12:30-5 pm.

Celebrate the annual migration of the Pacific gray whale and enjoy a host of activities weekend long during Whale of a Weekend at Santa Monica Pier Aquarium.

From 12:30-5 pm this Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 16/17), learn more interesting facts about these gentle giants through story time, film screens, and presentations about the gray whale’s migration habits.

Feel the heft of a whale rib, check out bristly baleen, and try on a layer of (simulated) whale blubber for warmth.

Fun for all ages includes face painting and craft projects. Spy for these migrating mammals at the naturalist station at the west end of the pier.

Admission for children 12 and under is free; all others is a $5 suggested donation or a $3 minimum.

The aquarium is located beach level, beneath the Santa Monica Pier, 1600 Ocean Front Walk.
