Santa Monica police arrested a 28-year-old Los Angeles man on Saturday, March 9 for violating a restraining order his ex-wife had filed against him.
At 1 am officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to a residence in the 1400 block of Lincoln Boulevard after they had received a report of a violation of a domestic violence restraining order.
When the officers arrived they detained the suspect, who happened to be the ex-husband of the victim, outside the residence.
The officers then spoke with the victim and she told them that she had been sleeping when her ex-husband began knocking on her front door.
The woman told officers she answered the door and asked him to leave, but he refused. At that point she called the police to report the violation of the court order.
The officers verified the court order and this ex-husband was arrested and charged with violation of a domestic violence restraining order.
Bail was set at $60,000.
