Santa Monica Youth Summer Camps Fair This Saturday, April 13:

The Santa Monica 2013 Youth Summer Camps Fair will be held April 13 and 20.

The City of Santa Monica’s 2013 Youth Summer Camps Fair will be held this Saturday, April 13, and repeated Saturday, April 20, to assist families planning summer break activities.

The event will feature all that the City has to offer for youth this summer, including Santa Monica Sports Experience, Camp Santa Monica, Rosie’s Girls, Police Activities League, and Virginia Avenue Park.

Information on the wide range of programs offered through the City’s Communities Classes and Camps Office by highly-qualified, local instructors will also be available.

All parents and caregivers looking to plan ahead for their child’s most successful summer break yet are encouraged to attend either session.

Youth Summer Camps Fair

Saturday, April 13: 10 am – 1 pm at Memorial Park Gym, 1401 Olympic Boulevard (Parking entrance on 14th Street)

Saturday, April 20: 10 am – 1 pm at Virginia Avenue Park, 2200 Virginia Avenue

Attendance and parking for both sessions are free. Advance registration is not required.

On Friday, August 5, at 10:52 p.m. officers of the Santa Monica Police Department rushed to investigate a report of an attempted residential burglary in the 1100 block of 24th Street. The officers learned that the reporting party had spotted the suspected burglar attempting to “jimmy” open the rear door of a nearby residence and that the reporting party had confronted the suspect about what he was doing.
