The Camarillo Springs fire in Ventura County is now 80 percent contained with full containment now expected on Tuesday, according to Cal Fire.
All evacuations and road closures have been lifted resulting in the Red Cross closing all evacuation centers.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
There are 1,055 firefighters helping contain the fire from 62 engines (25 Cal Fire) and 33 fire crews (27 Cal Fire). There are also 10 watertenders and a dozer helping with the efforts.
About 28,000 acres have burned since the fire began last week.
At its peak, the fire threatened some 4,000 homes as it moved through neighborhoods of Camarillo Springs and Thousand Oaks. It has caused damage to 15 homes.
