Opening Reception Friday Night On Main Street For New Art Exhibition:

haleARTS S P A C E will host an opening reception for a group show featuring the work of Barbara Kosoff, Frederico Ceballos, Mara Thompson and Michele Castagnetti this Friday, May 17 from 5-8 pm.

The free event encourages attendees to peruse accessibly priced work while enjoying white wine and freshly popped popcorn.

Kosoff creates mixed-media and assemblage works on paper. Her whimsical pieces combine a variety of print sources as well as drawing and painting with oil bars. Prints of her collage work are often featured in the LA times.

Ceballos creates contemporary abstract designs of indigenous nature. His work utilizes hard edges and distinct lines of color while exploring relationships between scale and repetition.

Thompson’s “Pick a Card…Any Card” series combines vintage, found and original collage materials, augmented by acrylic paint and oils. Her work is a visual representation of what she perceives to be of value and importance to those around her.

Castagnetti has created a series of prints inspired by wallpaper of the 1970’s. The series hovers between minimalism, abstraction and geometry while the bright colors create a vivid sense of spatial illusion.

haleARTS space is a Santa Monica gallery focusing on local emerging artists as well as the emerging collector. It is located at 2443 Main Street, Santa Monica.
