Santa Monica Public Library presents a screening of “Ball Talk: Baseball’s Voices of Summer,” followed by a Q&A with director Kevin Bender this Saturday, May 18 at 3 pm in the Main Library’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium, 601 Santa Monica Blvd.
The documentary chronicles the golden era of baseball, through the stories of veteran game announcers like Mel Allen, Red Barber, Ernie Harwell, Jack Brickhouse, Jack Buck and Curt Gowdy.
Following the film, Mr. Bender will participate in an audience Q&A.
This screening is presented free to the public and is open to all ages. Seating is limited and on a first arrival basis.
