More than 3,000 runners gathered in Santa Monica for the 8th Annual Santa Monica Classic 5K and 10K races—both of which finish just steps away from the Santa Monica Pier. The festivities continued throughout the morning at the post-race expo on the Pier, with an exciting lineup of vendors promoting the latest in nutrition and fitness and offering free giveaways.
5K Overall Winners in the male category of the race are as follows:
1) Kwin Keuter; 15:57.9
2) Jonathan Estrada; 16:22.6
3) Corbin Cahalan; 16:44.1
5K overall winners of the female category of the race are as follows:
1) Cortney Haile; 20:00.3
2) Kirsten Moore; 20:18.0
3) Elsa Collins; 20:22.2
10K overall winners of the male category of the race are as follows:
1) Blue Benadum; 33:10.5
2) Mark Tripp; 33:51.0
3) David Cruz; 33:53.8
10K overall winners of the female category of the race are as follows:
1) Cynthia Zarate; 42:05.8
2) Emily Norton; 43:08.2
3) Alison White; 45:06.5
The top three male and female finishers in each race received an ASICS gift card for a pair of ASICS Blur33 2.0 running shoes. The winner of each age division, along with the overall winners, received a NutriBullet. Finally, the overall first place finishers of both the 5K and 10K races also won a unique recycled glass trophy.
All finishers received an ASICS finisher t-shirt and a pair of wayfarer style sunglasses.
