Santa Monica Celebrates National Night Out Campaign:

The Samohi Marching Band opened the National Night Out festivities in Santa Monica.

Officers from the Santa Monica Police Department mingled with locals Tuesday night as part of the National Night Out campaign.

From 6-9 pm, Santa Monica City officials hosted the 30th anniversary celebration of the country wide campaign to promote public safety information in a fun family atmosphere.

The event featured free food, entertainment, raffles, and carnival games as well as an opportunity to see police vehicles and fire trucks up close.

It was held in the Civic Center Parking Lot at 1855 Main Street.
