The Cedars-Sinai Board of Governors hosted its 2013 annual gala Nov. 5 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
This year’s honorees were Santa Monica resident John C. Law, co-managing director of Warland Investments, and Michael Rouse, vice president of diversity, philanthropy and community affairs for Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc.
The highlight of the evening was the announcement by Steve Hitter, chairman of the Cedars-Sinai board of governors, that its seven-year goal to raise $20 million to establish the Heart Stem Cell Center at Cedars-Sinai will be met this year, 12 months earlier than planned.
More than 500 guests were entertained by a special performance by Michael Feinstein, the multiplatinum-selling, award-winning singer-pianist and Broadway star, nicknamed the Ambassador of the Great American Songbook.
Actress and “omg! Insider” co-host Thea Andrews emceed.
For the ninth consecutive year, Lexus joined forces with the Board of Governors as title sponsor, and donated a 2014 Lexus LS 460 F Sport luxury sedan which was raffled off at the Gala.
More than 500 tickets were sold.
Proceeds from the 2013 Gala benefited the Board of Governors Heart Stem Cell Center at the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute.
