The Crossroads School boys team finished 15th at the CIF cross country state championships, which took place in Fresno. Freshman sensation Ethan Finkel delivered as he has done all season, coming in third in his division.
Coach David Olds was excited with the way his team performed considering that this year is what he considers to be a “building year” with young athletes joining the team and many seniors graduating off of the team from last year.
Girls’ cross country star Sonaali Pandiri ran in the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving along with Olds. Pandiri won in the female division. Olds took first place for the males.
Both the boys and girls varsity basketball teams have undergone coaching changes. Anthony Locke, who worked previously as the varsity assistant coach for the boys team, is now in charge of spearheading the girls’ basketball team. Daryl Roper now leads the boys basketball team.
Roper had previously took on the program when Baron Davis and Austin Croshere played at the school. Before he left the program in 2006 after a long run, Roper had a very successful run as head coach, guiding Crossroads to CIF and state titles.
