The 5th Street freeway exit in Santa Monica will be closed for 10 days, along with Colorado Avenue between 4th and 5th Street, starting Jan. 18 at 6 am.
The 4th Street freeway exit will remain open, but motorists are encouraged to use Cloverfield Boulevard or Lincoln Boulevard as alternate routes to Downtown Santa Monica.
Know Before You Go:
— 5th Street
Northbound 5th Street will be temporarily closed at Colorado Avenue. Right turns on to Colorado will be allowed for local access, but left turns will remain prohibited. Take Lincoln, 7th, or 4th as alternatives.
Southbound 5th Street will be temporarily closed at Colorado Avenue. Right and left turns on to Colorado Avenue will be prohibited. Take 7th or 4th Streets as alternatives.

Westbound Colorado Avenue will be temporarily closed between 4th and 5th Streets. Right turns on to 5th Street will be allowed, but left turns will be prohibited.
The closures will run through Tuesday Jan. 28 at 11 pm.
