Authorities Identify Motorcyclist Killed At West LA Intersection:

Authorities have identified the male motorcyclist killed in a West Los Angeles traffic accident just before 6 pm Thursday as 30-year-old Armand Vartanian.

A spokesman for the LA County Coroner’s office said his autopsy was pending.

The fatal accident occurred at the intersection Santa Monica Boulevard and Barrington.

According to reports, Vartanian was pronounced dead after being taken to a nearby hospital.

CBS News reported that speed as well as a road slick from drizzle is believed to have been a factor in the accident.

Westbound Santa Monica Boulevard (at Federal) and northbound Barrington Avenue (at Idaho) were closed for several hours during the investigation, CBS reported.
