The St. Monica girls soccer team will be in the CIF southern section Division 7 semifinals after a 3-0 second round victory over Arroyo on Wednesday and a 2-1 quarterfinal win for them over Pasadena Marshall (16-7-2) on Friday.
The girls jumped out to a 2-0 halftime lead and were able to hang on for the win.
The girls are scheduled to face Archer School for Girls (15-6-3) who won a disputed contest over St. Anthony with a 1-0 lead at halftime the game was called due to inclement weather.
St. Anthony has said they are likely to appeal.
If St. Anthony (19-3-2) wins the appeal and complete game, the semi-final game will be down in the Long Beach area.
If Archer wins the appeal or complete game, the semi-final is likely to be local as Archer has been playing their home games at Santa Monica College during the playoffs. The game should be Tuesday.
