The Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Santa Monica (UU Santa Monica) invites the community to a celebration of its new facilities this Sunday.
The celebration begins at 11 am in the front courtyard for a brief ceremony with the church’s own Beth Brownlie Oakes, Bryan Oakes, Rev. Rebecca Benefiel Bijur, as well as Santa Monica Mayor Pam O’Connor and other special guests.
A reception will follow with food, a moon-bouncer for children, and tours of the building showcasing the earth-friendly design that reduces energy use.
The expanded campus includes a courtyard with semi-permeable paving stones, refurbished cottage, renovated social hall and classrooms, soon to be landscaped new contemplation garden, and newly refurbished offices and sanctuary roof.
Community members are also invited to the church service at 10 am. Enjoy music, a children’s story, a sermon and more.
UU Santa Monica is located at 1260 18th Street, Santa Monica.
