Santa Monica’s Big Blue Bus encourages the community to celebrate Independence Day with the transit authority, but to remember all buses will be operating on a Sunday schedule.
Regular service resumes on all routes that operate during the weekend on Saturday, July 5.
Here are a few things to keep in mind that day:
— Routes that do not operate on Sundays will not operate on Friday, July 4.
— Route 3 will operate to/from the San Vicente at Gorham stop.
— Route 4 will operate via the weekend routing around the VA Hospital.
— UCLA Riders: Hilgard Terminal will be closed. Routes 1, 2, 8 and 12 use Charles E. Young/P2 Hub instead.
— The Transit Store and Customer Service will be closed, make sure to call ahead for your trip planning questions and/or bus pass needs.
Independence Day Event Detours – Friday, July 4
— Santa Monica Fourth of July Parade – Routes 1, 2, 4, 7, 8 and 9 will be on detour from approximately 5 am until 12 pm.
— Westchester Fourth of July Parade – Route 3 will be on detour from approximately 9 am until 2 pm.
— Pacific Palisades Fourth of July Parade – Route 9 will be on detour from approximately 5 am until 10 pm.
— Marina Del Rey Fireworks Show – Route 3 will be on detour from approximately 8 pm until 11 pm.
