Bail was not granted to a Los Angeles man on Saturday, July 5 after he was caught rummaging through a subterranean parking garage with burglary tools.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department responded to a call at 11:40 am that stated a suspicious person appeared to be loitering with intent in the subterranean parking garage of an apartment complex located in the 700 block of Ocean Avenue.
Upon arrival the officers spoke with the victim who told the officers she had pulled into the parking garage and had witnessed this suspicious person rummaging through her personal items that had been packed away inside her storage locker.
She said that after she had confronted the suspicious person he had told her that he had simply been “looking for recyclables.”
The victim then directed the officers towards the suspicious person whom was still in the vicinity of the parking garage.
The officers investigated and discovered that this person possessed a crowbar, wire cutters, screwdriver and other prying tools.
The officers arrested this 53-year-old Los Angeles resident and he was charged with burglary and a violation of parole.
