A 35-year-old Santa Monica man was granted bail in the amount of $100,000 on Wednesday, Oct. 8 after being charged with forcible rape.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to a residence in the 800 block of Lincoln Boulevard at 1:30 am on this day in order to assist the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) with an investigation of possible physical and verbal abuse in the home.
The officers interviewed both of the parents individually as well as the small child who was the offspring of these two people.
The officers concluded that, according to the information garnered during the questioning, the father of the child had been forcing the mother of the child to engage in sexual activity against her will.
The officers also discovered that the parents were not entwined by marriage.
The officers did not find any evidence of misconduct against the child, therefore they arrested the father and he was charged with forcible rape.
