Election 2014: Four Seats To Be Decided On Both SMMUSD Board & SMC Board:

In the race for the four seats on the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District (SMMUSD), there are three incumbents and four challengers with Nimish Patel not seeking reelection.

The incumbents seeking re-election are Laurie Lieberman, Ralph Mechur, and Oscar de la Torre. The challengers are Patricia Finer, Dhun May, Richard Tahvildaran-Jesswein, and Craig Foster.

In the race for the four seats on the Santa Monica College Board of Trustees, there are four incumbents and two challengers.

The incumbents seeking re-election are Nancy Greenstein, Louise Jaffe, Barry Snell, and Andrew Walzer. This is Snell’s first election as he was appointed to the board earlier this year after David Finkel retired from his seat citing health issues.

The two SMC challengers are Dennis Frisch and Maria L. Loya.
