An erratic homeless man was arrested in Santa Monica on Friday, Nov. 14 after exposing himself to diners enjoying lunch at a Santa Monica restaurant.
The story begins at 12:09 pm when a Public Safety Officer of the Santa Monica Police observed this man who was yelling, cursing, and acting in an erratic and unorthodox fashion in the downtown Santa Monica area.
The Public Safety Officer, while requesting assistance from other officers, observed this man running in and out of traffic, jaywalking, and generally creating a hazard to himself and others.
After several minutes of exhibiting this dangerous behavior the suspect approached a couple that was walking with a child in a stroller.
The suspect reached out and touched the stroller.
The Public Service Officer attempted to intervene, which caused the suspect to flee to the area of Ocean Avenue and Broadway.
When the suspect arrived at that location he stopped outside a restaurant, pulled his pants down around his ankles and proceeded to display his penis, his testicles, and after rotating 180 degrees, his buttocks to patrons in the restaurant, who up until that moment, had presumably been enjoying lunch at the restaurant.
When other officers arrived this suspect was apprehended in the 1500 block of Ocean Avenue and transported to a mental hospital for evaluation.
It is expected that this 43-year-old homeless man will face lewd conduct charges at a later date.
