Malibu Power Lines Knocked Down Overnight During High Wind:

Wind-related damaged knocked down power lines in parts of Malibu overnight, darkening at least three traffic signals today.

Signals were disabled along Pacific Coast Highway at intersections with Heathercliff Road, Zumirez Drive, and Kanan Road, according to the sheriff’s Malibu/Lost Hills Station. Deputies were deployed to direct traffic.

Southern California Edison’s automated trouble report showed 2,126 customer accounts had lost power in the Point Dume and Paradise Cove areas, with another 82 accounts blacked out north of the Civic Center area, 8 miles to the east.

Utility wires were downed in the 4200 block of Ocean View Drive and in the cul-de-sac at the 6300 block of Sycamore Meadows Drive, blocking part of those roadways.

A tree was knocked down on Fernhill Drive on Point Dume, blocking part of the roadway.
