Cinematographers for “Unbroken,” “The Imitation Game,” “Birdman,” “Mr. Turner” and “The Grand Budapest Hotel” will compete tonight for the 29th annual American Society of Cinematographers Award for motion pictures.
The nomination for “Unbroken” cinematographer Roger Deakins is his 13th career nod. He won the honor for “Skyfall,” “The Shawshank Redemption” and “The Man Who Wasn’t There.”
“Birdman” cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki won the award last year for “Gravity.” He also won the award for “The Tree of Life” and “Children of Men.”
The nominations are the first for Oscar Faura of “The Imitation Game” and Robert D. Yeoman of “The Grand Budapest Hotel.” “Mr. Turner” cinematographer Dick Pope was previously nominated for “The Illusionist.”
During the ceremony, Barbra Streisand will receive the ASC’s Board of Governors Award honoring her “contributions to the art of filmmaking.”
The ASC Awards will be presented at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza.
