Updated Thursday, March 19 – 2 pm

A police bomb squad has removed that “suspicious package” found on a Wilshire Boulevard sidewalk in Westwood, according to the LAPD, which reports it was just a suitcase containing personal items.

The offramps from the San Diego (405) Freeway were reopened just after 1:30 pm, according to the CHP.

The LAPD had been routing traffic away from the area so a bomb squad could remove the item.
