Two people were freed from their vehicles using the Jaws of Life then flown by helicopters to hospitals Sunday night after a head-on collision in a canyon above Malibu, a Los Angeles County Fire Department official said.
The crash was reported at about 9 p.m. at the intersection of Las Virgenes and Piuma roads, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Michael Pittman.
A news videographer at the scene said the two injured people were males taken from each of the vehicles, one a Lincoln Town Car and the other a compact.
