Man Wanted For Arson Arrested After Public Indecency At Palisades Park:

Latest police, crime and courts news.

A man pleasuring himself at Palisades Park was promptly arrested on Friday, April 17.

Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department received a report of indecent exposure at 9:30 am that was taking place in the 1500 block of Palisades Park so they rushed to the scene in order to discover what was going on.

When the officers arrived they saw a man sitting on a bench in the park.

The officers noticed that this man was holding a pornographic magazine with one hand and was holding and manipulating his penis with the other hand.

The officers also noticed that there were other people walking around in close proximity.

When the officers approached the man, the suspect quickly put his penis back into his pants and hastily zipped up his flies.

When the officers checked the man’s identification on the police computer system they discovered that the man had an outstanding no-bail warrant issued from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for arson.

With the evidence at hand the officers arrested this 64-year-old man (of either an unknown place of residence or no fixed abode) and he was charged with indecent exposure. Bail was not granted.

Editor’s Note: These reports are part of a regular police coverage series entitled “Alert Police Blotter” (APB), which injects some minor editorial into certain police activities in Santa Monica. Not all of The Mirror’s coverage of incidents involving police are portrayed in this manner. More serious crimes and police-related activities are regularly reported without editorial in the pages of the Santa Monica Mirror and its website, smmirror.com.
