A traffic accident in the 22600 block of Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu around 6:20 am this morning has claimed a life.
A pedestrian, whose name was not immediately released, was struck and died at the scene.
The motorist stopped and was questioned but not arrested, the sheriff’s department reported, adding the motorist was eastbound on PCH when the accident occurred.
After the accident, both eastbound lanes of PCH were closed, snarling traffic in the area. After a couple of hours, authorities began allowing motorists through the area on one lane in each direction.
